HE WALKS!!

John turned 9 mo yesterday and started walking today :) He took 4 steps in a row this morning! He has done it a few times today! He is getting sooo big! He is also working on cutting his top two teeth, so in a few days we should have four! He waves hello and bye bye all the time and turns off the light switch when we leave a room. He babbles up a storm and thinks the dog is hilarious! :) Katy is his best friend, but Mommy is still his favorite--can you blame him? hahah! ;) He is one of the snuggliest kids ever and everyone thinks he is so friendly. Seems to have big feet and hands for his age?? Weighs in a 17lbs 5 oz. Super skinny and long just like Daddy :) He understands the words book, sister, mama, dada, ball, doggie, drink, snack, monkey, lion, and of course--no, oh and the commands "give me a kiss", "turn off the light", and "come here"! He is always on the move! Still nursing!! Hoooray! And eating three big meals a day allong with a couple of snacks. He loves to feed himself and hasnt found many foods that he doesnt like...actually, the only one I can  think of so far is a black bean--weird seeing as though I LOVE them and eat them all the time...you would think he woudl acquire a taste for them? So...that is about it for now...we are getting super excited to see all the Texas family in November...only 2 more months!! He should be running by then! ;) ahahh!

John is 8 Mo...and a day ;)

Well I am getting really bad about posting on here.  I am just toooo busy! With a 4 yr old getting ready to start school on Wed ( Sniff sniff) and an 8mo old on the loose, plus the children's ministry and the new bow business (wait I forgot to mention the house keeping, cooking, grocery shopping, laundry...etc., etc) ;) haha! Anyways, I use facebook so much more because it is fast and easy. But- Gran and Bev I think you still read this so I will update every so ofter for you :) xoxox.
So here are all the new things the kiddos can do:
Katy can write her name all by herself, also writes Mommy and Daddy and Ava (her best friend)
She is getting really good at the numbers (she recognizes all 10 of them now and can write most of them 4 and 5 are pretty tricky for a little kid). She is also getting good at recognizing her letters! She will be ready for school on Wed for sure! She will be going 5 days a week from 8:30-11am. She is in the prek at the Christian Academy at our church. While she is very excited (she has 4 buddies that will be in her class) I am getting pretty sad at the notion that my time of being home with her everyday is coming to an end. She really is growing up :( No baby left in her for sure!
John on the other hand....
Well, he is still a baby- but not for long :( He is a crazy man! The happiest kid ever! So smiley and full of laughter. He loves Katy still and she can get him in stitches quicker than anyone else. He is saying Mama now and waving hi. He dances and crawls-- stands up in the middle of the room --not holding onto anything to pull up. The longest so far is 20 seconds! Today he even took a step. He was standing next to me and he did not notice that he was not holding on to me! He started to cruise and then realized he was by himself! Haha! He now prefers to stand in the tub all the time too! What a ham! He feeds himself finger foods--LOVES turkey and avocado and he still likes to drink from a regular cup and wants to do it by himself! He has his two bottom middle teeth and he is really slimming up. You can even see his little neck and chin (singular) now! :) He is soooo very handsome!
Both of these babies are my world! I am just about the happiest person ever! :) God is good to me!

Update On the Bows...

Well, I have now made about 100 bows!! I sent about half of them to my Mom to sell for donations to her clinic, a few to another group for charity, and have SOLD quite a few as well (to benefit Mom's clinic). I have also begun to make bow holders (you MUST have a pretty place to hang your bow at the end of the day ;) right??!!) So now for the exciting news....I am supposed to be taking my bows to show a local retailer (The Maine Made Store) owner on Mon. or Tue. of next week! The woman who works there looked at them Friday and said she was quite sure the owner would want to sell them! :) SO...I am praying and seeing where this goes. I do still have student loans to pay off....and since the ministry isn't quite paying the bills, this might be a new opportunity to me to make a little extra money :) Here's hoping.
