Fall is Here!

Top Ten Reasons You Know Its Fall In Maine...

10. You cant seem to get songs like "could it be im falling in love", "baby baby im falling in love", and "September" out of your head..

9. You want to spend every waking minute outside (while you still can)

8. You begin to plan your last summer lawn mowing--and think about placing an order for heating oil...in the same day!

7. You notice that the house has become strangely quite with the absence of the noisy ac unit blowing 24/7

6. Your husband is no longer glued to the tv for three hours after church watching some cars go round and round and round and....

5. Your skin is no longer oily and not yet dried out like a lizard!

4. You relish the fact that you can still pull out of your driveway without having to shovel first

3. Your wardrobe suddenly becomes various shades of eggplant, Burgundy, and cream..

2. The blueberry muffins, bread, and pies are all gone and apples have become the new staple of your diet. Applecider, applesauce, apple pie, dried apples, apple roll ups, and even plain old fresh cut apples end up at every meal!

1. You begin sending pictures of TREEs to everyone you know!

As you may have noticed, today is the official first day of fall, and I must say that I am pretty excited! As I was taking Katy for a walk this afternoon I was just overwhelmed with a sense of joy and true peace. I am really happy here in Maine and I am really glad to be raising my little girl here (Remind me of this in March -ok, Aimee). God is so good! Anyways, I wanted to share the joys of fall in Maine with yall back at home (and for my favorite Oakie ;) ) so I will post some pictures over the next month of the trees so that you can see the progress as it happens! (Margo--Im bringing Maine to you!) Enjoy! :)

Thanks for the beautiful pictures! Keep that Maine fall coming my way while I'm still wearing flip flops and tank tops!! It is only in the 70s though, so I turned off my AC!!! Yippee. I love the picture of Katy at the park...the light shining through in the background is awesome! And the leaf picture is cool. I don't think I ever realized that!

Thank you for making me take a moment and look at the beauty of the season. When you live some place all your life you forget to stop and be thankful. I never even have taken the time to realize the leaves change color that way. So again thank you. Oh and I will try to remind you as long as you don't take off in the middle of the night again.
