Nothing like a little warm weather...

...to bring the Mainers out of hibernation! Who HOO!!! It Was like 55 degrees today!! It was so nice I TURNED OFF my HEATER!!! and--Took Katy for a WALK!!--with NO COAT on!! (Dont report me just yet--I had a hat and light coat on Katy!). However, I was actually hot out in my sweatsuit! Seriously! What a beautiful day! Sunny and warm--enough--anyways, for now.

It was truly a sight to see the snow melting, icicles falling, and best of all, the neighbors slowly reintroducing their pasty, light deprived, bodies into the fresh air! One funny thing I have discovered since moving to Maine a little over 3 years ago (this is our 4th winter), is the complete change in community from season to season. You see, it is not just animals that hibernate--in fact, it seems as though the first snow flurry actually marks the retreat of all animals-human kind included-into their much warmer dens (some complete with TVs and couches!) ;) And, as winter slowly passes, so do the memories of your neighbors' lawns--and faces for that matter! Then, just as quickly as everything went silent, the spring's warmer temperatures and the melting of the snow seem to bring out new life--human kind included!! ;)

Well, we have a ways to go til spring--a little over 2 months (not that I am counting down or anything-hah!), but today was a nice break from the snowiest (yeah--so what--I made up a word) winter Maine has seen in 10 years!! I was just relieved to know that there is still grass in my yard! Horay! Thank you Lord for the reminder of hope! :)

A WALK--REALLY! YEAH!!!!

good observation. people do tend to hibernate during winter. I will keep you in prayer while you travel.
