Snow Day in November

Ok, I confess that I have been happy to see fall come and even got a little excited (dont tell my sister) to see the first Christmas commercials start playing (you know...because that means John is coming soon too!). However!!!!--I am not ok with the snow we had last week! I was at the church working when a few people started gathering at the front doors looking out and chatting. I had to see what was up, of course, so I headed out. "Tell me that is NOT what I think it is!!" I moaned...of course they (as Mainers always do) said "oh its just a little flurry...just some freezing rain...it wont stick. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!" I yelled, latter that night when I looked out our front door to see our yard covered in a blanket of white. I ran to the back of the house--because--you know--the yard is slopped in the front...so maybe it just "looked" deep. Yeah- No! The car was covered, the roof was covered...the DRIVEWAY WAS COVERED!!! "I WILL NOT SHOVEL THAT CRAP!!!" I screamed!!! How dare it snow the first week of November!! Ughh!! And even worse--how dare it stick!!! Oh and of course...the Mainers all said "dont worry it will all melt tomorrow morning"...un huh....I have to tell you that today is the first day I have not seen any remaining white stuff! :( It is Monday!! AHHH!! Ok, so now that I have ranted a bit (its ok...Im pregnant..I do that from time to time)..I must also admit...shhhh...that I sort of....kind of...maybe for a half of a second...liked it!---Ok wait not really. I didnt "like" it. I tolerated it! For one reason alone--Katy got to play out in the snow for about 30 minutes on a 50 degree day. The sun was out and she was completely entertained...and exhausted at nap time! So...ok, I hate snow (it is a little bit pretty) but I love to let my kid (my very bundled up kid) play in it. It's like letting her play in an enormous sandbox--only CLEAN!! You know that makes me happy...and I dont have to be paranoid about all the nasty stuff that lives in sand...you know what Im talking about!! Ok, so enough talk...look at the pictures of my girls (Koda had to be outside too) playing in the first snow of the season. (PS...Dear Lord...since we started early...can we be done early, too...like..um...Feb???...Im just saying..)

Does that look like a "dont worry it wont stick" kinda snow??
Snow on the new car :( Boo!!

The plants were even confused...some hadnt even dropped all their little leaves yet!
Dont worry...it wasnt yellow ;)
Enjoying the day....
So Nana just bought Katy a new snowbib, but I didnt have her "snowcoats" out of the boxes yet...soo...she is squished into her coat from last year...and I know she looks like a pink marshmallow...thats part of the cuteness!! :)
Building a square snowman
This is the chubbiest that kid will ever look! hahah! She is such a skinny mini!!
Scooping up the snow with one my kitchen serving utensils and dumping it in a Tupperware bowl...poor daughter of a Texan doesnt have a snow shovel or bucket!!! Hahah!

Oh...and here are some Katy Cuties from this week...

Katy to me at the breakfast table:
"This is my happy face" (Pause for big smile)
"This is my mad face" (Pause for grumpy look)
"See the difference Mama?"

Katy to me at the dinner table:
"I go to dance and I do tumbles and wheel barrels (arms in the air doing a tumbling motion)." "Most important (Pause for pointer finger up in the air)...get up and move those bodies" (Big smile and a little wiggle)..."And more important..(bigger smile) get a lollipop (eye brows dancing)!!"
Daddy to Katy from the doorway:
"Time to clean up your playroom munchkin"
Katy to Daddy from my lap on the couch watching a cooking show (she must be the only 3 year old that actually begs to watch cooking shows and baby shows!!):
"I very busy now Daddy! (looking perturbed) Shoo....shooo (hands motioning him away!)
Mommy to Katy at the dinner table:
"You are not getting dessert- you havent even touched your applesauce!"
Katy to Mommy:
(Sticking her finger on the applesauce) "See I touch it! See! Now I have dessert?"
Sometimes it is soo hard for Tim and I to keep a straight face. Im sure some of these stories should have involved some type of discipline, but come on--could you hold it together with that cuteness?? Yeah...I didnt think so! ;)
